You’re here because you want to age consciously, purposefully and with your eyes wide open.
I’m Loran Hills and I welcome you with an open heart.
As I discover the gifts of maturity, I’ll share them with you – a woman who wants to age consciously, radiantly and eager to greet another day.
In the past, I was a therapist and social worker with a Masters degree in Counseling. After spending over 30 years helping other people, I continue to be passionately curious about all things related to personal and spiritual growth.
Most importantly, I’m inspired by my own aging process. Every day I go deeper, beyond skin deep. I’m deep sea diving for treasures and spelunking for magical nuggets of wisdom. My seeker’s journey is evolving into a finder’s journey. I’m busy pondering life’s mysteries.
Beacons guide navigators to their destinations. Our destination is an alternative to the mainstream perception of aging and that’s Sublimely Brazen Aging! Sublime means to elevate, to render finer in excellence. It’s an exalted expression of outstanding worth. Brazen is boldness expressed with unrepentant confidence.
I’m a guiding light who can help you find your way in the hidden depths of aging. LORAN means LOngRangeNavigation. I’m the unit receiving the signal that you are sending. The beacon fires are lit to guide you towards potent living. I offer you comfort and direction without manipulation.
Circling together, we become more engaged, invigorated, and supported. We’re spirited women seeking zest, enthusiasm, humor and delight. Collectively we explore spiritual practices from our inner still points. It’s time to name our fears, increase our courage and cope with change. Diving deeply into meaningful topics and having fun will help us become more positive about getting older.
We are grown women entering our Third Age. It’s a mature stage of life filled with new opportunities. We’re not retiring from life; we’re beginning a new phase of life. Third Age pioneers are positive, animated, dynamic and resilient in spite of experiencing some of the physical challenges of aging.
“Good thing I’m aging, otherwise I’d be dead.” ~ Ana Monnar
We’re not dead yet!
You can call it what you want: aging, post-menopausal, elderescence, senior citizen, or time to sign up for AARP. You might be an old hippie, a Baby Boomer, or a Crone. You might think you’re washed up, over the hill, decrepit, ready for the pasture or really old – antediluvian! (Gotta love the Thesaurus.)
Let’s approach this phase of life with humor and confidence. Aging brings up negative thoughts and feelings that ignite fear or anxiety. Air-brushed, altered media images remove wrinkles and age spots as if they were shameful. It’s time to honor ourselves as wise women. We enter this new phase with mindful awareness of our assets and acceptance of our limitations.
A brazen aging woman exists without shame. She elevates her presence with confidence born of years of experience. Sublimely creating new traditions and ceremonies will help us recognize and honor our accumulated wisdom. This radiant wisdom exists inside of you. You want to be seen, understood, and supported. You’re resourceful, intelligent, thoughtful, and visionary.
You know this is a sacred time in your life. You are divine, beautiful and marvelous. You’re filled with vigor, verve, audacity, liveliness and zing. And if you’re not, you’re ready to figure out how you can be. You want to OWN IT!
Conscious aging is numinous, expansive and ineffable. Pathfinders seek deep truths. Aging becomes a spiritual practice when we adapt to change, appreciate what we’ve learned, and live with purpose. As we recognize our wisdom, we share that wisdom with gratitude for each other.
I invoke the light that shines in the darkness of confusion and despair, the light that illuminates the path we are all traveling, the path that transmutes suffering into acceptance without regret. Prepare to awaken the misty parts of your inner self. When you cultivate love and compassion for yourself, you open to the spaciousness of your spirit.
Ours is an Autumn light. It’s harvest time. We embody the subtle waning beauty of autumn that still contains dynamic life force energy. We are vibrant and necessary. Active. It’s our collective evolution to share the divine with one another, to discover our sublimely brazen selves as we continue to mature.
There’s a convergence of sublimely brazen aging women in Skin Deepest on Facebook. It’s a super secret group so we can have open and honest sharing. You can read more about it here. It’s free. Send me a friend request on Facebook, ask to join and I’ll add you.
