dancing in the still point on the spiral journey of life

Rainbow Tree

Have you ever painted a tree?  Curtis Killorn did and he inspired me.

I’ve been thinking about it for months.  I bought spray paint weeks ago. This morning the sun was out and I thought, “Today is the day!” I headed out with a ladder, primer and six cans of paint.  I had to break off a lot of extraneous branches in order to give the tree a cleaner look.  I used a ladder but the top of the tree was just too high to reach safely.

After pulling off old bark and priming the tree, I started spraying. About that time the wind started to kick up and clouds darkened the sky.  I carried on.  We have three llamas who live in the pasture. They weren’t too interested in what I was doing but our two kittens were.  They came out to play for awhile. Skipper, our miniature Schnauzer, got bored and left.

Once everything was painted I had to stand back at a distance to evaluate the colors.  I added more here and there until it looked just right.  I have neighbors who will probably wonder why on earth I would paint a tree.  I felt wildly eccentric and enjoyed it!

I’ve been thinking about what I can do to bring more joy, peace and healing to the world.  It seems that in opening my heart to new possibilities and experiences that creative experiences are increasing.  Art, spirituality, and love are the forces that inspire me.

What inspires you?  What fills you up (besides chocolate, of course!)

I just love this Loran – it makes me smile to look at and to imagine the fun you must have had doing it.

What inspires me? So many things – but today I’m inspired by my kids, my husband, grey skies at home and the memory of the beach last week while on holiday. And I am constantly inspired by the amazing people I get to meet online – I am left in awe by the beauty and brilliance I find every time I sit down at my computer.

And I just have to share – I’m allergic to chocolate, can you believe it?? I must be the only woman in the world that doesn’t love chocolate. It makes me sneezy and itchy and really angry! My Mum banned me from eating it when I was about 8 because it made me impossible to live with! I love the smell of it, but I don’t miss it and have never been tempted to eat it again since!

I cannot begin to imagine being allergic to chocolate but certainly you mustn’t eat it! What do you like to celebrate with instead?

I had a lot of fun painting my tree. I completely enjoyed feeling wildly eccentric!

i LOVE this….it makes me want to dance around my house (so I’m chair dancing right now instead!!) What sensational color and what a way to honor your inner colors and light and the beauty within nature. I think this is simply stunning and completely unforgettable….you have inspired my heart. SOOO much love to you!!
