Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
But you are eternity and you are the mirror. Kahlil Gibran
Three years ago, I watched other women launching online businesses and thought, “I could do that!” Silly me. I quit my day job and started Loran’s Heart without a clue about what I was doing.
Conventional wisdom at that time was saying, “Build it and they will come.” I took all kinds of courses, and joined many more groups, and commented everywhere like a psycho woman. I made some wonderful online friends (you know who you are, my lovelies!) But, the business floundered.
Then, I just had a really rough year with so many changes. Loran’s Heart took the back burner. I thought about throwing in the towel.
Sometime in August 2014, I was feeling despondent over my sagging skin. I took tons of pictures and made a skin collage. If I didn’t look too closely, I thought, those look like landscapes.
I thought, maybe there are women who are having all kinds of feelings about aging and would like to talk about it. I launched Skin Deepest with few sentences about it on Facebook, and, wow, a phenomenal group was born!
My goals are to increase acceptance towards aging, to embrace the changes and view them as positive. It’s a safe place to share how we can deepen our personal power and magnify our radiance as we age. The space is collaborative and supportive.
We’ve been sharing selfies, blog posts, thoughts and ideas there. If you’d like to join, please friend me and then send me a personal message on Facebook and ask. You won’t find the group in their search engine.
I’m thrilled beyond belief to see the group take off. I love that women are opening up and talking from the heart. We have so much to express. The group nourishes me and provides me with a sense of purpose. I got my mojo back!
I will, as always, ask plenty of questions. I continue to urge creative expression and collaboration. We are sharing this journey together.
Caution: Deeply diving into aging requires scuba gear before one acquires her mermaid tail!
